The upgrade system is a step in the wrong direction. The art is great, but somehow less engaging. Ambitious, well crafted, but still awkward. I think they want to evolve and not just repeat, you see that with the space game they did too. It suffers by comparison because the previous games were so amazingly well done. It's ok, pace is slower and content is leaner than previous entries, and the changes made aren't really refinements or additions, just differences, and maybe not for the better. Kinda wish we got more levels around his dead forest instead of just the tower tutorial. Also, it's really cool playing on Veznan's side. I also wish there was some indication of which difficulty you beat a level on. However, this means we can only use 5 different towers in a level instead of the usual 8. I like how we can pick different towers and how the towers are already unique at level 1. And the maps are more plentiful in this one. And the graphics and story line are better. You get like 15 more towers to choose from, but theirs clearly a meta. But its a bit easier in turn, the games before this one are harder. Love the extra missions after beating the main objective.Įvery map is designed so that you can choose how you go about it.

Besides that frustration, tho, it's just as entertaining as every other version. It got to the point that I turned the difficulty to casual and was still struggling at times.
